Here is how I made myself deliciously glazed maple doughnuts in just minutes without any of the extensive labor that sometimes comes along with baking. I will give the disclaimer that this recipe will not give you the typical cake-like texture of typical donuts but instead are the texture of cinnamon rolls (As is how they are made.)
To start things off, I would like to say that I have never been a perfect baker. I have come a long way but sometimes baking is just not on my side. I’ve tried many doughnut recipes that have not worked out quite as planned. So how exactly did I make these amazing glazed donuts without having to do any actually mixing? Well, I cheated by using cinnamon roll dough. That’s how.
The first thing I did was search for a brand of pre-packaged and raw cinnamon roll dough. The next step was to roll them out with a rolling pin until they were about 1 1/2 inches thick.
Now getting them to have their ‘doughnut’ shape is the fun part. In order to get that perfect round shape, I used too different simple things. I cut the base circle by using the top part of a glass cup and pressing down. For the inside, I pushed down a bottle cap in the center until it was all cut out.
The next thing I did was take them over to my pan of hot oil and cooked them for 1 1/2 minutes on each side or until they looked ready.
Now, for the last and best part, the glaze. If you’re using cinnamon roll dough then you should have some yummy frosting that came with the package. All I do to make the maple glaze is I mix the pre-packaged frosting with 1 teaspoon of maple syrup. It is so easy and turns out tasting so yummy.
