Get ready for Thanksgiving with this recipe for my delicious and incredibly creamy mashed potatoes. This recipe is packed with so much delicious flavor and doesn’t involve using any dairy in the process.
These mashed potatoes taste just like the buttery flavorful ones you’ve probably grew up tasting at grandmas house. Everyone who has tried could not believe they were made without using any dairy.
You can feel completely confident serving these mashed potatoes to your family and friends. And be prepared to hear only good things about them. Enjoy!
4lbs of potatoes (yellow, yukon gold or red) peeled and chopped into chunks. Make sure to cut all the pieces relatively about the same size so they cook evenly.
1/3 cup Vegan sour cream. I use tofuttie vegan sour cream. You can use any kind.
1 cup of almond milk (or your favorite plant based milk)
1/2 cup vegan butter or olive oil (can be substituted for either)
1 tbsp Chopped rosemary. I add some to the potatoes and save some for a garnish.
1/2 tbsp Salt. This part is always optional if you want a salt-less option.
1 tsp Garlic powder
This recipe will make enough to feed the whole family or make a great portion to bring to a party. You can always cut the recipe in half to make a smaller size for a small group. Either way, this is guaranteed to make you want to leave room for seconds.
Creamy Dairy Free Mashed Potatoes
- 4 lb Potatos
- 1 cup Plant based milk
- 1/3 cup Vegan sour cream
- 1/2 cup Vegan Butter
- 1 tbsp Chopped sage
- 1/2 tbsp Salt
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- Take your peeled potatoes and boil them in a large pot with 6 quartz salted water. Let boil for about 10-15 minutes or until soft. (They should be easy to pierce with a fork when they are done.)
- Add your cooked potatoes to a mixing bowl. Add your dairy-free milk, butter and sour cream. Mix with a potato masher until everything is smooth.
- Add your garlic powder, sage, and salt into your bowl and continue to mash until everything is mixed.
- To get even creamier mashed potatoes, you use an electric mixer and add 3 tablespoons of water to your bowl.
